Food for Thought- 31 July

In the morning Adel from the hart foundation came to give a set talk about healthy eating and how it would help our body and haret.


Adele told us about how the heart helping the body.First when Adel walked in she told us that some of the food like lollies and sweets are not good for our heart and it will be faulty.She said that many people have had diabetes from eating to many lollies and losing limbs or died from having to many lollies.

She gave us cards that had cereal box names on them.The cards also had the fat total, energy,fiber and sodium.’’ Did you know Corn flakes have more sodium in it corn flakes have 550mg of it. In the Corn flakes there is 8.3g of sugar.It was cool to get to know what in the cerail.

We all had to answer Adele's questions like in the coco pops how much sugar is in it.We had to answer in the per hundreds column she wrote.Energy Coco pops had 1590 kj , fat Coco had 1.5 g , Sugar Coco had 34.8 g in the fiber column it had nothing but Sodium had 310 mg.Adele said that too much suger can make you die but no food or sugar you will die to. It would be good if we had a balance in our food.


Adele gave us some pictures of bottles to do from smallest to biggest.She split us up into group groups from months of birthdays from January to december.She passed out the cards so we can put them from largest amount of suger to the smallest some people got it wrong but some got it right.The second goodest drink was school milk because of the coliseum.Drinking lots of water is good and we didn't know that milk had suger.


It was cool to see Adele tell us what to drink all the time and what not to drink all the time. The heart foundation should come back again to give us another talk about how to keep our heart , bones and muscles strong.
